Millions of devotees and spiritual seekers are walking towards Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, toward Maha Kumbh 2025. One such soul is Abhay Singh, popularly known as ‘IIT Baba.’ His sojourn made him pass from an aerospace engineer to a fulltime seeker in spirituality. Now, let’s see where his journey had reached the hearts.
Who is IIT Baba?
Abhay Singh, an aerospace engineer from IIT Bombay, has everything going in the way of academic success but still was lost in meandering through various passions until he got drawn to the spiritual path. In the most apparent sense, his journey is the character of Farhan Qureshi of the blockbuster movie ‘3 Idiots’ which portrays many people’s struggles to find what they are looking for.
Exploratory Life
Abhay is a native of Haryana, but self-taught himself to a good extent at IIT Bombay after a full four solid years of course study in Aerospace Engineering. Says that it teaches him to learn a lot from this platform; more over teaching passion which got him the break when he got recruited soon enough to teach physics to the students so as not to lose interest in the coaching center and photogra with keen interest later.
From Engineering to Arts
Abhay had switched from teaching to arts. He was extremely keen on photography. He was following all forms of visual communication and design-be it product design and animation. “If you keep pursuing knowledge, where do you reach? This is where you reach,” he said while recounting his journey.
Spiritual Awakening
Abhay did not get any sudden turn. He was, in fact, a gradual realization of his spiritual journey. In the days of engineering, he used to do philosophical studies; thus, he studied the meaning of life by great thinkers like Plato and Socrates. Such explorations prepared the ground for his transformation into a spiritual seeker.
A 2000 km journey
Abhay traveled over 2000 kilometers to learn India. He crossed sacred sites like Manali and Rishikesh, and he also dived into different cultures and spiritual practices of the communities there. Every step was a lesson, and every experience added something to his wisdom.
Life Lessons Learnt
He learned the core survival skills about cooking and mindfulness during this tour. He himself said that he was a tough one at some moments, but after sometime, he started feeling a pleasure of doing these small things of daily routine. “Focus on the small things of life,” he said, quoting which stated the essence of every moment. THE ESSENCE OF HAPPINESS
He became ‘IIT Baba,’ but more than that he wanted to sacrifice material success to attain greater happiness and satisfaction. He wanted people to follow their passion, too. To him, “life is about finding your passion,” and happiness is what you love doing.
Relationship with Nature
Abhay would be content in natures to solve the complexities of life. As he wandered through the peaceful lands of India, he would lead to reflection and understand his stand in the cosmos. The silence of the mountains and rivers shall be a guidance toward spiritual enlightenment.
The Role of Community
During the Maha Kumbh, Abhay encounters several gurus and other sadhaks. The big fair develops a sense of community because everyone comes to share their experiences and lessons learnt. For Abhay, this bonding is proof that spirituality cannot be an individual’s journey but something shared with others.
Reflections on Fame
Saying he has gained popularity among public as an ‘IIT Baba’, Abhay says, “I was appreciated and criticized together. He moved on the path of spirituality further: “It does not portray my journey, it is knowledge and experiences”. He reminds the temporary nature of all the recognition one receives. Conclusion: A Journey Continues
What can be said at this juncture of Abhay Singh’s story about how to follow one’s heart is that a great deal is spoken about the beauty of following passion and finding meaning in life in this story that has moved an aerospace engineer to become a spiritual seeker, and therefore, innumerable other individuals are inspired by IIT Baba while walking at Maha Kumbh to venture into their respective journeys in search of happiness and fulfillment.
This is the materialistic world, and there comes Abhay to remind the people of what counts. Most can easily relate with his experiences as they urge to delve into passion and the spiritual journey that life has in store for them.
